In May of 2012, MIPS introduced it's new Aptiv™ generation of processor cores. The Aptiv generation is comprised of three new processor families covering entry level, mid range, and high end processor core solutions covering a wide variety of application requirement. Each family delivers top Coremark performance in its class, and achieves that performance very efficiently in silicon and power.

A highly-efficient, compact, real-time embedded MIPS32® Release 3 processor core with microMIPS™ code compression instruction set architecture. Integrates DSP and SIMD functionality to address signal processing requirements for a wide range of microcontroller and entry-level embedded segments including industrial control, smart meters, automotive and wired/wireless communications.
