Ensigma Present AMR Offering at First Ensigma Present AMR Offering at First DSPG Workshop

Ensigma were delighted to be invited to present at the first DSPG workshop for SMARTCoreTM Licensees. Organised by Ichiro Fukuma, Head of Sales at DSPG Japan, this is the first in a series of international workshops to enable DSPG core licensees access to up to the minute information of developments in their key applications areas.

Steven Roberts of Ensigma presented the key benefits of Ensigma’s implementation of AMR, the brand new speech coding standard for GSM, to the invited audience. The month old Adaptive Multi Rate coding standard is proving to be an exciting standard to be involved in early on as it is heading to be the first truly global standard for mobile communications having been adopted across Europe and being considered by ARIB in Asia and the US. This is unsurprising as it offers users the key benefit of adapting to the channel conditions to offer maximum quality and robustness in variable channel and speech conditions.

Ensigma’s implementation will offer the usual benefits of their HR, FR and EFR coders of extremely low MIPs consumption and ease of integration into a clients system.
